Assignment Overview

We are looking for Senior Web Platform Engineer

What You Will Work On

• Design, develop, and maintain MapKit APIs for the Web platform.
• Build scalable, reliable, and reusable components used by multiple internal and external clients.
• Translate client requirements into robust API designs and production-ready code.
• Lead API modernization efforts, including completing the TypeScript migration with necessary breaking changes.
• Develop cross-platform mapping features that integrate seamlessly within the Apple ecosystem.
• Collaborate closely with Human Interaction Design, Services, Engineering, Data, and QA teams.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines, leveraging containerized environments such as Docker.
• Develop and maintain internal testing tools and test cases, sometimes supporting QA bootstrapping activities.
• Contribute to developer-facing documentation and technical writing to support API adoption.
• Ensure high standards in software architecture, design patterns, and long-term maintainability.

What You Bring

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript, with solid knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience designing and building public-facing APIs.
• Strong understanding of functional programming principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).
• Proven ability to explain complex technical problems clearly and succinctly.
• Strong architectural mindset with a keen eye for scalable and maintainable design.
• Experience developing reusable libraries or components consumed by multiple clients.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
