Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer or Industrial engineer to work as Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) to evaluate, monitor, and develop supplier performance in line with industry-leading standards for capacity, delivery, cost efficiency, and core values.

The Supplier Development Engineer will assess current manufacturing capacity and operational performance at supplier sites, identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities, and ensure structured action plans are implemented and followed through. This role requires close collaboration with suppliers to drive measurable and sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate supplier manufacturing capacity and operational performance
• Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Develop and implement improvement roadmaps together with suppliers
• Monitor progress and ensure execution of agreed actions
• Lead Value Stream Mapping (VSM) activities
• Collect and analyze cycle time data
• Identify waste and improvement areas using Lean methodologies
• Analyze and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives at supplier sites

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in supplier development or manufacturing engineering
• Strong background in manufacturing operations and shopfloor improvements
• Hands-on experience applying Lean principles or other manufacturing philosophies
• Proven ability to run VSM workshops and performance analysis activities
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset
• High level of autonomy, self-organization, and leadership capability

Profile:

• The ideal candidate has a degree in Lean Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, is a recognized specialist within supplier development, with a strong technical foundation and the ability to independently lead improvement initiatives. You are structured, results-oriented, and comfortable working directly with manufacturing environments to drive operational excellence. Fluency in French is considered a strong advantage.
